Group Case Study of Psychoanalytic Integrative Arts Psychotherapy in the Depression of the Elderly and Its Meaning: Focusing on Cinema Therapy and Art Therapy

Abstract
This study investigates the theoretical and practical aspects of the psychoanalytic integrative arts psychotherapy program that makes an effective intervention in the depression of the elderly in the aging society. Both literature research and case study are used. The conclusion of the study is as follows. Firstly, this study examines the theoretical meaning of the depression intervention by clarifying the meaning that the depression is a self-strategy in which the deprivation of object is connected with that of ego, and by clarifying the meaning of integrative arts psychotherapy as both the psychological mechanism of cognition-affection-behavior and the therapeutic approach combining cinema therapy and art therapy. Secondly, the study offers a successful practical system of the depression intervention by revealing its quantitative and qualitative effects through SGDS?KHTP?Daily Assessment Checklist after practicing the intervention of 14 sessions for the 7 aged persons with depression. Thirdly, the psychoanalytic integrative arts psychotherapy for the depression of the elderly revalorizes the therapeutic and social meanings of the intervention by recognizing the importance of the holding environment with good-enough therapists. Hopely, the value of this study will contribute to the professional interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary researches for mental health of the elderly.
